Tidal Warning

For information on tides please go here
The bar that connects Ministers Island to the mainland is under at least 14 feet of water at high tide. The island is safely accessible for 5 hours during low tide. Tide schedules change daily, you MUST check the tide chart posted at either end of the bar before crossing. If there is water on the bar, DO NOT attempt to cross on foot or by vehicle as the tide is swift and the water frigid. When crossing the bar by vehicle avoid the softer sandy portions. If you are on the island and return to find it under water it can take up to six (6) hours until it is safe to cross back to the mainland. Also, tidal information for St. Andrews can be accessed from this Government of Canada web site

Please note: Dogs are welcome, but must remain on leash at all times.
