This season we are pleased to have a partnership with Shiretown Community Services Inc. for food services during operating hours Monday through Saturday. Through this initiative training is offered to staff and it serves as a fundraiser to pay annual operating costs for the SCS Community Kitchen (wages for trainees, honorarium for the trainer/supervisor, food, insurance.)

Shiretown Community Services, Inc. (SCS) is a not-for-profit charity with a Mission to assist the vulnerable in local communities overcome barriers to finding and keeping employment. This is accomplished through training and skills development in teamwork, communication, and problem solving, while building confidence and self-esteem in a nurturing and supportive environment. The goal is increased integration into the community, socialization, and more self-sufficient living. Ministers Island is pleased to partner with this fellow not-for-profit organization this year!
