Don’t Miss Out on Tickets for “Murder on the Accidental Express” Dinner Theatre

Step back in time to the year 1901, where mystery, suspense, and a touch of theatrical flair await on Ministers Island this summer. An unforgettable evening is set for Sunday, July 26, as guests are invited to experience Murder on the Accidental Express, an interactive murder mystery dinner theatre that promises intrigue from the very first moment.

The story begins aboard a Canadian Pacific Railway train travelling from Montreal to Vancouver - until disaster strikes. An avalanche in the Rocky Mountains halts the journey, leaving passengers stranded in the wilderness. As night falls, a delicious meal is quickly arranged in a nearby navvies’ tent, offering a warmer refuge than the now-chilled dining car.

But what begins as a simple supper quickly turns sinister.

As passengers step off the train and make their way through the snow to dine, shockingly, A BODY'S BEEN DISCOVERED and a surprising number of passengers had previously crossed paths with the victim - and generally not in a good way...Questions swirl in the mountain air. Who is the victim? What led to the murder? And perhaps most pressing - who among the stranded passengers can be trusted?

Guests will enjoy a meal inspired by the early 1900s while watching - and participating in - the drama as it unfolds around them. Attendees are encouraged to fully immerse themselves in the experience by selecting a character at the time of ticket purchase and stepping into the story alongside the cast.

The performance will be brought to life by The Van Horne Players, a passionate group of local performers who are generously donating their time and talent in support of this fundraising event. Organized by Ministers Island staff member Judy Beaton, who is also donating her time to coordinate the event, the evening combines community spirit with creative storytelling in a truly unique setting. Joining the list of passengers are Sir William Van Horne himself, on his way to Victoria BC to buy land on which to build the Empress Hotel, played by Rob MacNeill , the intrepid Dudley Do-right, RCMP Sargent played by Tim Thompson who is traveling to his new posting in BC,  Liz Fothergill as Honolulu Lou, a "dance mistress" on her way to the goldfields with her troop of cancan dancers to entertain the miners, and Lucie Blain as Viola Trieste bereft mother searching the country for her long lost son.

Starting at 4 pm in the island’s event tent, the experience promises laughter, suspense, and a dash of theatrical mischief. A list of characters - so diners can choose who they might want to be - will be posted on the website along with the menu. Diners are encouraged to participate, but if this isn't your thing then just sit back and watch the drama unfold. Prizes will be awarded for best costume and most enthusiastic participant, adding an extra layer of fun for those willing to embrace their inner thespian.

Please note that the performance includes some adult content and is recommended for ages 12 and up.
